Processing & Installation

Installation of the ALCOBOND® and ALCOFORT® panels is simple and convenient, and processing can be carried out using simple tools. ALCOBOND® has absolute flexibility to all shapes according to the requirements of a building design, including curve, reserve curve, curve corner and sharp curve. ALCOFORT®, although thinner, is also adaptable to most building design requirements. Both indoor and outdoor installation can be implemented simultaneously to increase work efficiency and decrease working time.

Processing

Saw Cutting

It can be saw cut with an ordinary base plate saw. Usage of a hard alloy blade is recommended.

Slotting

It is important to carry out the V-type slotting process with a distance of 0.2-0.4 mm from the polyethylene substrate. The recommended slot angle is 110.
1. Milling machine and trimmer
  • Use the modified drill as showed in the left chart.
  • Running speed: 20000-30000 rpm
  • Feed speed: 3-5 m/min
  • Material: hard alloy

2. When processing a large quantity of V-type slots, the usage of round saw and belt saw is recommended. The following is an example of a slotter:
  • Material: hard alloy
  • Outer diameter : 305mm
  • Number of teeth : 3000-5000 rpm
  • Feed speed : 5 m/min

Bending with panel bender

When a plate folder is used for the finishing of the ALCOBOND® or ALCOFORT® panel, dies must be placed with the appropriate radius.

Bending with 3-roller panel bender

Usage of a 3-roller panel bender is required when bending a large internal diameter to plate folder.

Riveting

Easy penetration of counter sunk rivet through panel.

Bolting

Considering the deformation limit, formula e<2D is the best way to calculate aperture D and the distance from hole center to plate end.

Bending with panel folder

If the panel folder is operated on the platform, the bending part can be made tidy.
